| On December 1st, Weichai Power announced that it had concluded the dispute with SINOCHEM. In the future, Weichai will legally own four key patents such as diesel oil and gas separators. The announcement indicated that Weichai Power had received the Notice of Closing of Invalid Declaration issued by the Patent Reexamination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office three days ago. The notice shows that on November 13th, SINOTRANS filed an application to the Patent Reexamination Board to withdraw its claim that the four patents were invalid. The four patents are: diesel engine oil and gas separator, diesel engine crankshaft front oil seal and sealing device, spiral grooved crankshaft flange and first camshaft bushing for diesel engine. In early November of last year, Weichai Power had announced that it would send a lawyer letter to the Group and its affiliates because these companies allegedly infringed on a number of patents such as its diesel engine oil and gas separators. Subsequently, SINOTRUK submitted an application to the National Patent Reexamination Board, requesting that the four patents be invalid. |
